Make sure to leave enough for critters, and for the plant to survive and grow again.
Don’t take more than 25% of the plants in any given area. Ever. Be responsible. Do take some and taste them and use them. That’s the way to get to know what plants are around you to utilize. I love to make fresh plant tinctures of herbs. I always have alcohol and glycerine available so I’m prepared. This is a great way to have on hand herbs I want to use throughout the year. Purslane is a wonderful lil treat to throw into a salad the day you harvest it. Most of the dandelions that I get now a days go to my tortoise because they love them so much! (I still sneak a couple leaves for myself). Some of these I’ve never personally found so I would love to try them all. #wildfood #spring #forage #herbs #nutritious #herbalist
