![]() Herb a day Campaign : Aloes. It’s also known as Bitter Aloe (because it’s sooooo bitter) or Cape Aloe (because it’s from South Africa). This herb is a laxative. No ifs, ands, or butts. (See what I did there ;)) It has bitter colon stimulating constituents called anthraquinones. This herb property stimulates the bowels to move and allows the intestines to be purged of solid waste and mucus. It’s the most stimulating laxative I’ve ever used in my work. People seems to love it though because a little goes a long way and it is super effective. The bitters always make the digestive system wake up. It gets digestive juices moving and the muscles in the intestines moving too. It’s a match made in “clean out your bowels” heaven. It has some other pretty impressive attributes too such as being used positively to reduce the symptoms of IBS. In studies made my L. Langmead in 2004, they found when Aloes was used daily it greatly reduced symptoms of IBS for almost every single participant. It stimulates lymphocytes and fibroblastic cells for immune modulation. Reduces inflammation. Has anti viral properties. Helps to heal stomach ulcers too. The inner gel of the plant is used a lot like it’s cousin Aloe Vera to heal wounds and burns and skin irritation. It’s also used for dandruff and promoting hair growth when used on the scalp. So, let’s here it for this beautiful, bitter, balancing, behemoth of a plant!! All hail the mighty Ferox!!
