Herb a day Campaign : Chickweed is our lady of the hour. Such a Beauty with her tiny white flowers. This herb is a friend to those who want to reduce their weight. It works great as an appetite suppressant. It does not have a stimulating effect on the body so it can be used a few times a day without negative effects on the nervous system. A cup of chickweed is perfect when you throw in a pinch of cinnamon. Reminds me of an herbal snickerdoodle. (I’m biased with herbal flavors so I could be wayyy off on this). If you wanted to boost up the energy or fat burning capability adding green tea, guayusa, or Mate’ would be a great addition. Chickweed also helps to rid the body of excess fluid by way of its diuretic effects, thus drinking as a tea can facilitate this process even more. Fluid in, fluid out. Ointments made from chickweed sure come in handy in the summer time when being outside can lead to rashes and bumps and scratches. A lil dab will do ya and the body will react very favorably to using Chickweed externally as well. Try some Chickweed as a sun tea brewed with Hibiscus and Rosehips for a refreshing burst or with Anise and Holy Basil as a soothing tisane. However you use it let me know, I love learning what people do with their herbs □ #chickweed #herbs #tisane #masterherbalist #herbalist #tea #herbaltea #diuretic #appetitesuppressant #naturalista #herbadaycampaign #herbsman! #slanginherbs #teasdoabodygood #knowbetterdobetter #herblover Photo: Dandy Lion Emporium (Dusti Gregory)
