![]() Herb a day Campaign : Lavender. Hey pretty lady in a flower form. All delicate and oh so strong at the same time. Smells like coming home and snuggling on a cold night all wrapped up in one. Lavender was never my favorite of smells. Then one day I smelled it in some lotion and that was it. It’s melodic in the nose. I love to use it at the herb shop, keeps the customers happy and relaxed. I love using it in my hair oil. Grows the hair long and strong and keeps the skin happy. Once, I was cooking a Thanksgiving meal and I burned myself on the steam from some cauliflower (I really like cauliflower). It hurt soooo damn bad. Like instantly. I grabbed up the oil, poured it all over my finger and then put my finger in some ice water because that burn didn’t play. It hurts for hours afterward but I kept pouring the lavender on it. It never blistered. It did hurt and it did have to heal but no blisters for me. It’s amazing in teas and if there’s one thing I know, it is teas. It changes the entire flavor palate when it is added. I also love making lemonade out of it with roses and rose hips. Thinking about it makes me want a cup now. It’s one of the best selling herbs out there and whether you buy the flowers or the pure oil try it out. Also amazing in sugar scrubs and beauty products too. Do you like lavender? What do you do with yours? Teach me.
