![]() Herb a day Campaign : Uva Ursi is a urinary tract’s best friend. Getting a bit technical, Uva Ursi contains a constituent called arbutin. Arbutin is converted to hydroquinone in the system. This hydroquinone is great for keeping the microbial balance on point in the urinary system. So, what that means for us is if there is an overgrowth of certain microbes we don’t want (like in a UTI- a urinary tract infection)uva Ursi can help to eradicate them and send them in their way. It has also been used widely for cystitis (bladder infections). So ultimately it may help to reduce the bacteria in the urine. It helps to remove uric acid crystals through the system and in the cases of gout, this is exactly what they need to happen. Of course one needs to drink enough high quality water to assist the body in this work. Our Native Americans use it in kinnick kinnick, a ceremonial smoking blend. As well as for its medicinal properties. And of course the bears love to eat those berries of uva ursi, which has given us one of its most used common names, Bearberry. I’ve had the berries myself and those bears are on to something □. I like to mix mine with marshmallow root or leaf, corn silk and juniper but any combo you want is alright with me. Give it a try if you feel like it or just do it because you want to taste an herb you never have before. All these herbs are on this planet just like us, whatcha waiting for? #uvaursi #kidney #bladder #uti #cystitis #herbadaycampaign #herbalist #naturespharmacy #health #healing #herbalist #tea #urinary #masterherbalist #dallasherbalist #bearberry #bear #anherbalistineveryhome #knowledge #thankyou
